2About the Taste of Buffalo
The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops is the largest two-day food festival in the United States. It began in 1984 with 22 restaurants on Main Street and has doubled in size, growing to its permanent home on Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, NY. The Taste is a not-for-profit corporation registered with the State of New York and is run by an all-volunteer board of directors, an event management and sponsorship agency, and supported by approximately 1,000 dedicated volunteers.

The mission of the Taste of Buffalo is to promote the City of Buffalo and showcase the greater Buffalo area restaurants and businesses by providing an affordable and enjoyable weekend festival that takes place in an inclusive and socially responsible manner for all.

Named one of "10 Best Food and Wine festivals you can feel good about attending" by USA Today.

Your purchases at the Taste help make possible donations to over 20 local charities and annual scholarships awarded to WNY students pursuing a culinary or hospitality degree. To date, over $606,000 has been donated.
3Festival Orientation & Layout

The Taste of Buffalo takes place along Delaware Avenue in downtown Buffalo, anchored at the south at Niagara Square and City Hall, and running north toward Chippewa Street.

The festival's boundaries are:
Chippewa Street to the north
West Eagle Street to the south
Franklin Street to the east
Elmwood Avenue to the west

There are three main zones:
Zone 1: Niagara Square & the Circle — the western hub, centered on City Hall
Zone 2: Delaware Avenue Corridor — the main food strip running east
Zone 3: Kids Village & Taste Marketplace — family activities and local makers, on the south side of Delaware

☼ Navigation The Main Stage is located on the south side of Niagara Square, near West Eagle Street. Live music from the Main Stage is the loudest continuous sound at the festival — use it to anchor your position. When you hear music to your south, you are near the western end of the festival grounds.

✍ Feel Delaware Avenue is flat, paved asphalt. Temporary ramp bridges are in place at curb crossings. Tent structures line both sides of the avenue — you will feel them as you walk.

This guide is self-sufficient — all the navigation, food, and entertainment information you need is in these segments.

4Zone 1 — Niagara Square & The Circle
Zone 1 — Western Hub

Niagara Square is the western heart of the Taste of Buffalo. City Hall — Buffalo's landmark Art Deco tower — rises at the center of a large circular plaza. A circular road rings around City Hall, and restaurant and vendor tents line this road all the way around.

♪ Sound The Main Stage is on the south side of the circle, near West Eagle Street. You will hear amplified live music from this direction throughout the day. The Acoustic Stage is located at Mohawk Street, the DJ Stage at Huron Street, and the Cultural Stage at Cary Street, featuring Slyboots School of Music — all running from 11 AM to 8 PM.

The Taste Marketplace is located in the inner Niagara Square, within the circle itself, and features local makers, artisans, and specialty food vendors. More details are in Segment 6.

A ticket booth and ATM are located on the east side of the circle on Court Street.

○ Smell The circle area concentrates the widest variety of aromas in the festival — smoky barbecue, sweet custard, spiced nuts, and grilled meats all compete as you move around the ring.

5Zone 2 — Delaware Avenue Corridor
Zone 2 — Main Food Strip

From Niagara Square, Delaware Avenue runs straight east toward Chippewa Street, lined on both sides with restaurant and food truck tents. This is the festival's longest stretch and home to most of the 42 restaurants.

✍ Feel The avenue is wide and straight. Tents are on your left (west) and right (east) as you walk north. The crowd generally moves in both directions, so keep to one side if you prefer a cleaner path.

As you walk north, restaurants are numbered — lower numbers are closer to the Chippewa Street end. The Genesee Beer Garden is located next to the Main Stage, identifiable by the sound of crowd conversation and the smell of Pretzalo.

♪ Sound The Acoustic Stage at Mohawk Street offers live performances as you make your way north along Delaware Avenue. The DJ Stage at Huron Street and Cultural Stage at Cary Street are further along and each have their own distinct sound character as you pass.

Coca-Cola beverage stations — serving water, Sprite, Coca-Cola, Smart Water, and Vitamin Water — are at five locations throughout the festival, spaced along Delaware Avenue and in the Niagara Square circle. You will encounter them regularly as you walk.

A ticket booth and ATM are also located at the Chippewa Street end of Delaware Avenue.

6Zone 3 — Kids Village & Taste Marketplace
Zone 3 — Family & Makers

The Kids Village is located on the south side of Delaware Avenue, in the western portion of the festival near the Niagara Square circle. It is a dedicated family activity area.

Kids Village features:
Erie County Public Library — Saturday only
Dreamy Buffalo — creative activities
Sik Braids — hair braiding area
FeedMore WNY — Kids In The Kitchen — hands-on food education
Crystal Beach Loganberry — Free Slushies!
Buffalo Bills appearances and activities
ArtByB — Face Painting
Stutelage Innovations

♪ Sound Children's voices and lively activity sounds mark the Kids Village. Crystal Beach Loganberry is a beloved Western New York drink — the sweet-tart, non-carbonated beverage inspired by the legendary Crystal Beach Amusement Park. Free slushies make this a popular, high-energy spot.

The Taste Marketplace is located in the inner Niagara Square, within the circle. It features 17 local makers and specialty vendors.

7Food Directory — Tents 1–21
